An earring is a piece of jewellery that is worn on the ear. It can usually be worn by both genders. The earring has been an essential jewellery accessory for women for ages in both the west and the east. As far as the male gender is concerned, earring went out of fashion a long time back, however during recent times; the earrings have started to make a comeback among the male gender.

T he earrings are usually attached to the ear by the help of ear piercing. The earlobe is pierced and the disco ball earrings are inserted in the pierce. An alteration to this however is the clip earring which requires no piercing but rather is attached to the ear with the help of a clip. Earrings usage can be traced to early history. It can be traced to Persians, the Greeks and even ancient Rome.

Earrings and disco ball earrings can be made from a number of materials both cheap and expensive like plastic, glass, metal and even diamonds. Designs can vary from small or large loops, studs or even dangling items.

Why wear disco ball earrings?

Earrings are now considered everyday accessory, even by men. They have become so common in both genders that people have stopped looking who is wearing them. Today, men who wear earrings are understood to make a statement that they confident, stylish and masculine. Good examples can be of Michael Jordon, David Beckham and even male model Tyson Beckford. A disco ball earring can therefore make a statement about you and you personality.

Disco Ball

Disco balls; usually associated with the 70s disco craze, are spherical balls covered with a myriad of small similar shaped mirrors glued to it. The mirrors can be of a single colour and even multi-coloured to create the dazzling effect. As light is shown on the ball, the small even shaped mirrors reflect light in all directions creating what is called the disco ball effect.

Disco balls have been in use since the early 1920s, one of the early appearances was in a nightclub scene in Berlin: Die Sinfonie der Großstadt, a German silent film from 1927. However as technology has advanced, the use of disco balls as party mood setters has disappeared even if the disco ball at present is  going to through something of a revival.

Earrings have been in fashion fro a very long, their designs keep on evolving. From using precious stones to large loops, everything is in itself a fashion statement. Disco balls have gone out of fashion made obsolete by the new technology, however combing the two can lead to a very innovative and unique fashion statement.

The length of experimentation also seems endless. You can have expensive earrings be made for you or you can go for the cheap ones. They can be made out of white gold, yellow gold, silver or even plastic. They can be suave for a formal occasion or you could go for the big shiny ones for dance parties. There are just no restriction.
